Never Let Me Go Discussion Questions

If you get the chance, you might want to go see the film Never Let Me Go. It's DEVASTATING but really good. Better yet, you could read the book. I think it raises some interesting questions about political art that coincide with our discussion last meeting about The Ones Who Walked Away From Omelas. Specifically, I'd like to discuss the following (either on the blog or at the next meeting): 1) does the film have revolutionary or anti-revolutionary value? 2) how could it be revised to have more revolutionary value? (maybe as a creative writing exercise we could imagine a sequel) 3) would our proposed revisions weaken the emotional impact of the film? why? why not? 4) why is there a surplus of contemporary dystopian art but very little utopian art? (or has utopian art been monopolized and redefined as popular culture?) 5) what would contemporary utopian art look like?
